WATERMARK (2026)

At the center of a vibrant street food scene operates Rani, a resilient vendor of crispy spicy chicken whose life was permanently scarred by a devastating case of wrongful blame. Peace breaks when she accidentally accepts a novelty hundred-thousand rupiah note disguised as legitimate tender. The situation spirals out of control when her young son attempts to use the illusionary currency at a neighborhood shop, igniting a frenzy of suspicion that quickly consumes the entire block. Fueled by anxiety and gossip, residents launch a comically intense grassroots manhunt directed by a relentlessly active community head. As confidence collapses and physical money proves impossible to verify, locals realize traditional exchanges can no longer guarantee honesty. In this atmosphere of escalating tension, contactless transactions ultimately serve as the irrefutable ledger that clears reputations, repairs fractured relationships, and ushers the divided community toward genuine forgiveness.
