Relocating from Türkiye to France, Selim enters a required creative retreat alongside his four-year-old daughter, Defne. Almost immediately, his sketches draw attention for their unconventional style, leaving him feeling isolated and self-conscious. Determined to blend in, the exhausted parent labors nonstop to produce straightforward wildlife illustrations that come easily to his classmates, yet every effort only fuels his growing frustration. The relentless expectations soon fracture his grip on reality, twisting his workspace into a dreamscape of shifting images. On the program’s final day, defeated and ready to walk away, Selim leaves his latest page unfinished. Defne approaches, gazes at the unfamiliar shapes, and instantly names a dinosaur, weaving playful narratives that breathe life into the composition. In that breakthrough moment, Selim finally grasps what he had been trying to erase: his offbeat vision was never a flaw, but a vibrant catalyst that already sparks wonder in his child’s mind.
