My Mother Is Not Oil (2026)

A guest lecturer’s thought-provoking exploration of scientific inquiry and spiritual doctrine cracks a brilliant Sudanese graduate student’s religious convictions, guiding him steadily toward secularism. His newly adopted rational perspective faces its ultimate test when his mother receives a devastating cancer diagnosis, plunging him into a harrowing dilemma where cold logic battles deep emotional loyalty. This poignant character-driven drama captures the universal tension between evidence and intuition as one young man navigates doubt, family bonds, and the relentless pursuit of truth.
