A Distant Spring (2026)

Guided by a matriarch’s final request, Ji-won and her father transport their grandmother’s ashes across turbulent borderlands to lay her to rest in her original North Korean village. What begins as a solemn promise quickly escalates into a high-risk expedition where unspoken debates over citizenship, cultural allegiance, and personal background emerge at every checkpoint. This emotionally driven odyssey blends survival, heritage, and the burden of divided roots into a compelling story of family ties, geopolitical divides, and the enduring search for self.
