SHADOWS OF A NATION (2026)

Shadows of a Nation is a short documentary that immerses viewers in the rhythms of everyday Brazilian life. Through an intimate interview, director Akinola Davies Jr. becomes narrator and guide—a voice rising from the shadows—as the film explores heritage, culture, family, and sacrifice. Echoing his own feature film, the journey follows a people—now Brazilian—from the north, where they leave behind culture and customs, toward the south in search of a better livelihood, the promised land.
