Philly Pretzels (2026)

Crafted by director Justin Crowell, this American ten-minute cinematic release delivers a poignant slice of life set against the gritty backdrop of South Philadelphia. The narrative centers on Barry, a dedicated vendor who sells warm pretzels from a sidewalk stand, whose daily rhythm shifts dramatically when he crosses paths with Brianna, a sharp-tongated nineteen-year-old abandoned mid-argument with her partner. Left wandering the pavement in emotional turmoil, their brief exchange unfolds into a quietly powerful moment of connection. Featuring standout performances from Adam Shapiro and Abigail Donaghy, this English-language short premiered in 2026 as a compelling example of contemporary independent filmmaking.
