A Trout and the Last Waltz (2026)

In the rushing currents of mountain streams, yamame trout ignite the start of an extraordinary life cycle, migrating toward the ocean before reversing course to return as radiant cherry salmon. This profound biological pilgrimage binds the destiny of inland woodlands, flowing waterways, and seaside settlements into one interdependent web. This compelling environmental documentary reveals how modern interventions are fracturing this ageless rhythm. From the construction of dams blocking ancient passages to the decay of neglected forests and the rapid expansion of renewable energy infrastructure, human activity is rewriting the rules of nature. The film probes the hidden price of advancement, analyzing how the pursuit of economic growth has altered fragile ecosystems and eroded the rich cultural heritage deeply rooted in the health of these natural systems.
