Felix Motel (2026)

Felix Motel (2026), from Kim Martin Thomas, stars Betty Boop (1930) and Felix the Cat (1931) in a Quasimodo-style reimagining of The Cobweb Hotel that draws heavily on the 1960 classic Psycho. The Cobweb Hotel is a 1936 animated short directed by Dave Fleischer and produced by Fleischer Studios, with animation by David Tendlar and William Sturm; its setting is said to be one of Fleischer’s desks, which the spider used to launch the fake hotel. Felix Motel shifts the action to a Bates Motel-inspired location and includes cameos from public domain characters such as Tweety Pie, Popeye, and Mickey and Minnie Mouse, among others. Felix Hotel honors Psycho while also offering unmistakable nods to Scream, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre
