Julka (2026)

At just eight years old, Julka shares an unbreakable bond with her closest companions, Danilo and Marko, navigating carefree childhood moments until a sweeping fascist decree shatters their innocence. When authoritarian forces outlaw regional speech and target ethnic minorities, a climate of fear rapidly spreads through their community. Conflict erupts inside a schoolroom when an educator overhears Julka conversing in Slovenian, responding with brutal physical discipline to erase cultural identity and impose uncompromising nationalist doctrine. This compelling historical drama captures how youthful loyalty withstands systemic persecution, following a young girl's quiet resistance as she fights to preserve her native tongue and safeguard her heritage against an oppressive regime.
