Bayang (2026)

At sixteen, Ayu is consumed by the picture-perfect beauty standards flooding her social media feeds and magazines. She plasters her mirror with reminders of what “beautiful” supposedly means and drives herself through makeup, dieting, and other painful attempts to reshape her appearance. As her reflection fades behind those impossible expectations, her sense of identity fades with it. Overwhelmed, Ayu retreats to the beach, where an unexpected encounter with the girl she idolizes shakes her beliefs and opens her eyes to a very different understanding of beauty and self-acceptance.
