In the wake of the 2022 Itaewon Halloween tragedy, collective mourning has consistently fallen short of reaching peripheral communities. Beneath that lingering quiet, personal narratives surface from individuals who pause before acting, each charting their own path toward processing loss. As I record their journeys, I find myself wandering through the same emotional landscapes, only to discover that formal remembrance areas leave no room for observers like me. What emerges is a constellation of disjointed accounts, endlessly revised and sorted into three broad segments, resembling a tangled board of overlapping reminder cards.
