Optimus Prime Awakening (2026)

Optimus Prime: Awakening is a 12-minute CG-animated Transformers short created for the franchise's 40th-anniversary celebration. Designed as an epilogue to the 1986 animated film, it returns to the world of the Autobots and Decepticons while placing Optimus Prime at the center of a new chapter.

The short has particular significance because it features Peter Cullen's final original voice performance as Optimus Prime. Frank Welker also returns as Megatron and Soundwave, linking the new production directly with the voices that helped define the franchise in the 1980s.
