Last Seen in Crimea (2026)
Director: Maksym Yakobchuk
Once celebrated for its breathtaking landscapes, mild climate, holiday resorts, and vibrant Crimean Tatar heritage, Crimea—Ukraine’s southernmost peninsula—has been transformed since its illegal 2014 annexation into a contemporary gulag. Thousands of Ukrainian civilians are reportedly trapped in clandestine prisons where Russian security services hone their techniques of repression. Drawing on survivor testimony, leaked databases, and months of open-source intelligence research, the film exposes the FSB-linked network of detention facilities and identifies the officials who run them.
