Pedro Arrupe. Yo viví la bomba atómica (2026)
On August 6, 1945, the Enola Gay carried humanity’s most deadly weapon into history. At exactly 8:15:17 a.m., the first atomic bomb fell on Hiroshima. The image that seared into collective memory was the nuclear mushroom cloud seen from above—not the burning bodies below or the hands that reached out to save them. That was the vantage point of Pedro Arrupe, a Basque Jesuit priest and missionary born in Bilbao.
