Barton smock: 6 broken bones, and letters to Ethan Hawke is an experimental short film built from Barton Smock's poetic writing. The project combines selected pieces from his collection of letters to actor Ethan Hawke with images filmed and edited by his son Aidan Smock.

The work is less a conventional narrative than a cinematic interpretation of poetry, using fragments, voice, imagery, and personal material to create an intentionally unconventional portrait. Noah Michael Smock appears in the film, further emphasizing its intimate family-made character.
