Rural Bulgaria, 2005: thirty-year-old Ovanes drifts through a lonely existence, splitting his hours between a dead-end gig at the town butcher shop and long, sleepless nights in internet chat rooms. Then, out of nowhere, an unlikely online bond forms with a stranger named Ollie.
