Miolo (2026)

As the drums of June draw near and São Luís prepares to erupt in the vibrant, age-old festivities of the bumba-meu-boi, one man stands at the center of the whirlwind. Codó is the beating heart of the celebration—the "miolo," the soulful dancer whose movements breathe life into the enchanted bull. But behind the glittering costume, his world is unraveling. With his housing lease expiring, his job contract slipping away, and the relentless advance of his father’s Alzheimer’s—a burden he carries entirely on his own—Codó must summon every ounce of resilience to keep the magic alive, both on the festival stage and in the fragile, fading world of his home.
