Mashinka has always been the perfect student, with her life neatly mapped out—until her best friend Nika returns from summer break full of whirlwind romances, leaving Mashinka feeling left behind. On their way to the September 1st school assembly, the two friends make a solemn pact of lifelong loyalty, right there on the tram tracks.
