Overt Listening (2026)

Hong Kong-born artist Tiffany Sia explores China’s Cold War legacy in a striking landscape film set among the tranquil surroundings of Taiwan’s Kinmen archipelago. Just 1,800 meters from the Chinese coast, this terrain of deserted beaches and abandoned military bunkers and training facilities still carries echoes of past conflict, including the 1949 Battle of Guningtou, where Taiwan defeated the Chinese Communist Party and retained control of the land.
