Red Wave (2026)

1948. A crimson tide swells across a fractured peninsula. A director journeys from Yeosu to Busan, following the coastline where lives and memories are sedimented like layers of history. The Yeosu-Suncheon Incident ignites when troops in Yeosu defy orders to crush the Jeju April 3 Uprising, and civilians fall en masse under the Rhee Syngman regime's retaliation. Once the Korean War erupts, the government slaps the label of communist onto National Guidance Alliance members, unleashing massacres across the nation. Behind the killing fields of both cities stretches the sea—a silent conduit through which state violence coursed from Yeosu all the way to Busan.
