Piljo (2026)

In a tranquil Japanese town, Lee Hyang-ja faithfully performs the ancestral rites of her husband’s Zainichi Korean family. Yet beneath her loyalty lies a buried maternal past—her mother, Chun-ja, was torn from her birth mother at just seven years old and ultimately lost even the memory of her name. Driven to uncover her forgotten grandmother’s identity, Hyang-ja journeys to South Korea, where she unearths a concealed truth and comes to see that she herself stands at the core of the very tradition that has perpetuated this silence through generations.
