Fresh from a traumatic delivery and a crumbling relationship, filmmaker and photographer Violeta finds herself unmoored in her role as a mother. Searching for answers, she turns her lens inward and backward, examining the mothering she received and the unspoken codes of womanhood handed down through her family line. As she meets a spectrum of maternal figures—including María, a trans sculptor and mother who redefines the very concept—Violeta begins to glimpse a transformative new perspective on her own identity and her fractured journey into parenthood.
