A Brief Encounter (2026)

Kath, an Italian-Filipino digital content moderator based in Genoa, spends her days remotely sifting through the darkest corners of the internet—beheadings, torture, livestreamed suicides, and child abuse. When word reaches her that a colleague in the Philippines has died by suicide, overwhelmed by the same relentless work that consumes her own life, she takes two days off. Then she extends the break, unable to face returning to her screen. A massage appointment brings Jenny into her life—a Filipino woman who works on people's bodies as a side gig. What begins as a scheduled hour together turns into an unexpected connection. Both women carry their own wounds and grief, and in each other, they discover a way to finally be seen. The screen that once only inflicted pain now holds something new: the promise of redemption and the possibility of healing.
