Venus (2026)

This 8mm film is crafted from the perspective of "film as a living body." By rethinking the core elements of cinema and how they interconnect, this approach expands beyond the physical filmstrip to embrace the projector, beams of light, and the human form. During its creation, vivid imagery surfaced organically—life crawling from the sea, Okinawa's mythic Nirai Kanai, and the eternal afterlife described in the Kojiki—all worlds "bounded by the ocean." This is not a mythological retelling. Instead, using the sea as a threshold and 8mm film as its raw substance, the piece explores inner transformation, renewal, and the journey toward the light.
