The *Animal Studies* project shares a deep connection with the Short Film Series, first launched in 1975. What makes working within a series so compelling is its built-in adaptability—films can be included or removed, and the sequence or style of projection can shift freely. Think of each film as a single brick: unremarkable on its own, yet capable of forming endless, varied structures when assembled together. My fascination with filming animals stems from their complete lack of self-awareness, their raw authenticity, and their inability to perform.
