Tears of the Lonely Army of the Golden Triangle (2026)
金三角 孤軍淚
Director: Hsieh Hsiao-yun
Nestled where Thailand, Myanmar, and Laos converge, the fabled "Golden Triangle" sprawls across a dense, emerald wilderness—a land that once sparkled with gold and precious gems, yet evolved into a volatile, ungoverned expanse forged by warfare and narcotics trafficking. In the wake of the Chinese Civil War’s conclusion in 1949, a splinter faction of the Republic of China’s military sought refuge deep within this rugged terrain. Under the command of General Li Mi, this contingent—dubbed the “Yunnan Anti-Communist National Salvation Army”—swelled from a modest band into a formidable force numbering in the thousands. Still, marooned amidst the unforgiving jungle, they remained cut off from any homeland or ally, forever etched into history as a phantom legion—a forgotten army adrift in the shadows of the Golden Triangle.
