A diptych of two haunting variations on the same sacred theme, *Casa d’altri // Fujenti* probes the unsettling paradox of prayer and devotion. Drawing on Sergio Quinzio’s idea that prayer is a negative experience—defined by God’s persistent silence—the first segment, loosely adapted from Silvio D’Arzo’s *Casa d’altri*, centers on a solitary wanderer. This figure drifts through a world of saints, churches, and scriptures, daring to pose a scandalous question to theology itself. The second half shifts focus from the lone soul to the crowd. Using archival footage of rituals, processions, and popular pilgrimages, the film captures bodies in motion: praying, walking, waiting, offering up exhaustion, voices, tears, and sheer presence. True to Quinzio’s insight, these worshippers are not serene icons of faith but needy beings—beggars before the invisible, physical forms yearning for the fulfillment of a tangible void.
