Lost In The Water (2026)

Through shimmering fragments of restored archival film, the everyday rhythms of rural Cambodia unfold along the Mekong—steam rising from cooking pots, hands pressing rice seedlings into mud, children’s laughter echoing from a one-room schoolhouse, and the timeless ferry crossing that stitches the river’s banks together. Shot on grainy Super 8, these images float in an unnamed era, suspended between memory and myth. Then, a phantom flood sweeps in, swallowing the landscape whole. A haunting refrain repeats: “Where is the old house? Do you go through here?”—a question that circles like the current itself. Yet nothing truly vanishes. Each ripple on the water’s surface becomes a doorway, and from the murky depths, forgotten moments surface, glistening with the weight of what was once lost.
