Director: Arild Østin Ommundsen

Cast: Billie Østin, Vega Østin, Nina Ellen Ødegård, Thomas Skjørestad, Sofia Naima Berg

Six years on from where the first chapter left off, Billie and Vega's world is unraveling. Their father has vanished, their mother is drained and distant, and Vega has spiraled off course. Billie aches for the unshakeable bond the sisters once shared—the force they proudly dubbed their superpower. So when Vega makes the decision to commit herself to a hospital, Billie refuses to stand by. Armed with nothing but her dad's vintage film camera, she sets out on a trek that will test her body and her heart. Strangers and circumstances along the way push her to her limits while quietly rebuilding her resilience. To make it through, she'll have to lean on her own instincts, think on her feet, and embrace whatever comes her way without warning.

More About This Film

Back to Tottori is a Norwegian coming-of-age drama following twelve-year-old Billie, who wants to reconnect with her older sister Vega as Vega struggles to imagine a future. Arild Østin Ommundsen and Silje Salomonsen direct the film, bringing a distinctly personal family perspective to the story. The filmmakers' own daughters, Vega and Billie, play the sisters, adding an unusual connection between the film's performers and its subject of sibling bonds.
