Il senso della terra (2026)

Il senso della terra is a 14-minute Italian short set around a doctor examining the body of a migrant who died at sea. During the examination she discovers a small quantity of earth carried by the young man, opening an extraordinary connection between the living observer and the journey that brought him to the sea.

Directed by Alessandro Ingaria and acclaimed animator Simone Massi, the film combines live-action performance with Massi's distinctive visual sensibility. At its heart is an image of homeland carried in a handful of soil, giving the short a symbolic framework for migration, memory, loss, and belonging.
