Lune et l'Empereur is a 2026 French experimental fantasy fiction project built around a masked-ball reunion between two characters, Lune and the Emperor. Their meeting brings an old wound back into focus through the Emperor's facial scar and a mysterious notebook.
The story uses an antagonist represented through physical imagery as a personification of self-judgment and shame. Rather than treating the scar only as a visual detail, the film turns it into a symbol of how people hide from their own past and appearance.
Filmed in Bourges in July 2026 and listed as completed, the project combines fiction, fantasy, animation and experimental art-video influences.
Lune et l'Empereur is an independent French project, so commercial streaming availability may be limited while festival and filmmaker channels remain important.
