Leone a Roma (2026)

Leone a Roma is a Vatican-produced documentary retracing the nearly two decades that Robert Francis Prevost, now Pope Leo XIV, spent in Rome before his election to the papacy. The film follows his years of study, religious service, leadership within the Augustinian order, and work within the Holy See.

The documentary combines interviews, archival material, personal images, and previously unreleased footage to build a portrait of Prevost's years in the Eternal City. Rather than focusing only on his pontificate, it concentrates on the experiences and relationships that shaped his life in Rome before his election.
