Endless Sunlight (2026)
Six generations of Indigenous matriarchy unfold through time, anchored by an intimate audio conversation between kokum Penny Roan and Jennifer Houseman—Tyson’s grandmother and mother. In the recording, kokum Penny recounts her own grandmother’s harrowing experience at a residential school in Southern Alberta, revealing that her uncle, at just seven years old, set the school ablaze. Woven across the seasons, the narrative is carried by images of young Osa Roan, Penny Roan’s granddaughter, as she harvests birch bark at a summer camp—bridging past and present through the strength of family memory.
