Vertical Remains (2026)
Time climbs as memory descends. Across thirty-two tilted frames through British Columbia’s Lower Mainland, buried stories of Indigenous heritage, colonial harm, and shifting ecosystems are unearthed. As colour drains to black-and-white and audio sinks while the camera rises, linear time fractures. Blending archival footage, layered landscapes, and a falling soundscape, the film disrupts straightforward storytelling, recasting the now as layered sediment. The land surfaces as an unfinished geological record, where history endures in vertical layers beneath today’s terrain.
