Skylark (2026)

In the aftermath of the Soviet Union’s collapse, shifting borders across Central Asia ignite enduring land disputes. This tale follows Abek, a Kyrgyz teenager coming of age in a village perched near the Tajik frontier, raised by his grandmother, Ene. When she passes, Abek strives to bury her beside his grandfather—only to find the grave now sits on the other side of a redrawn boundary, inside Tajikistan. Guided by local myths and haunted by simmering cross-border strife, his quest to locate the tomb exposes deep historical scars still festering in the region’s contested borderlands.
