Inca skull surgeries, mythical animal encyclopedias, a controversial bid to sell Parque Lage’s grounds for a graveyard, plus clubs for Pinschers and Yorkshire Terriers—these are just a few of the scenes brought to life across three fictional concepts for the historic mansion in the Botanical Garden: the Carioca Shangri-La, the Giza Necropolis, and Machu Picchu. This video emerged from the course Archive, Montage and Memory, drawing on images from Memória Lage, the Visual Arts School of Parque Lage’s collection.
