Salitre no more (2026)
Salitre não mais!
For nearly fifteen years, I’ve been documenting a forest of imburana de cambão trees vanishing along the border of Bahia and Pernambuco. Through layered imagery and a triple-screen split, a hypnotic rhythm emerges—pulsating text offers new pathways of escape. The forest’s slow erasure mirrors warnings about climate change, while marking fire and logging as human-driven forces of loss. This film grew from an installation of the same name, featured at the Frans Krajcberg Space in 2025, but the film is more intense. Here, the imburanas de cambão ignite as the sertão transforms into desert.
