Once a celebrated Russian football star, Ivan now scrapes by as a washed-up pilot and the monotone host of a lackluster sports show. His life takes an abrupt turn when a fiery on-air spat erupts with Maks, his old teammate turned national lapta coaching legend. The public fallout costs Ivan his job and whatever shred of fame he had left. Desperate to salvage his reputation, Ivan fires back with a bold wager: he’ll out-coach Maks at his own game.
