Sugar Laced (2026)

Fronting the neighborhood’s favorite pastry shop is Lemonia, the welcoming proprietor who turns day after day into a steady stream of customers. Yet the true culinary architect working her magic behind the counter is a fresh hire named Margarita. While she whips up everything from delicate puff pastries to rich custard tarts, her undisputed masterpiece shatters baking conventions entirely. These aren’t your average sugary treats—they’re expertly engineered sponge creations meticulously sculpted to deceive the senses and perfectly replicate raw steaks, roasts, and cured deli meats. Shoppers line up around the block for these edible illusions, but as kitchen experiments venture further into uncharted territory, it soon becomes terrifyingly clear that pushing reality to its breaking point carries a heavy cost.
