Romare Bearden: A Life in Collage (2026)

Romare Bearden was a trailblazing athlete, artist, and activist who refused the limits imposed on Black men of his era. In Paris, he socialized with James Baldwin, wrote chart-topping songs, and transformed personal memories into striking collages that honored Black life and reshaped modern art. A fierce advocate against social injustice, he shattered artistic barriers and left behind a dynamic creative legacy that continues to inspire and empower artists, dancers, and musicians.
