Maxita (2026)

Davi Kopenawa, a Yanomami spiritual leader and one of Brazil’s most powerful Indigenous advocates, faces off against massive mining operations pushing into his Amazon homeland. His travels take him to Brumadinho, where he witnesses the devastating fallout from the catastrophic dam collapse. Moving between the physical world and the spirit realm, his journey crosses paths with the maxita watimapë—the “earth eaters”—and ultimately brings him back together with his steadfast ally, Ailton Krenak.
