My Letter to the South (2026)

What started as a personal trip turned into something far bigger—this was never supposed to be a documentary. I’ve long admired the American South from afar, but the real experience had always eluded me. Back home in Aotearoa/New Zealand, there’s a deep-rooted connection to Black American culture, especially its Southern roots, and I wanted to bring back the stories we rarely get to glimpse. So I set out. *My Letter to the South* captures that unexpected journey. No script. No plan. Just two Kiwi blokes discovering a place we’ve always loved—for the very first time.
