Amazon Opera (2026)
Ópera Mestiça
Deep in the Amazon rainforest, the island of Parintins hosts Brazil’s most iconic folk festival each year. As the event takes shape, faith, ritual, and religious syncretism quietly emerge as the unseen forces behind the spectacle. Blurring the line between observation and myth, the movie transforms into a documentary fairytale, where everyday reality slowly takes on the texture of legend. At its heart stands the mythical Bumbá Ox—a symbol born from the profound convergence of Indigenous peoples, Black Africans, and Europeans, whose traditions intertwine in the Amazon to forge a distinctly Brazilian worldview.
