A Spanish migrant worker and a German student form a young couple in 1973. When Iria’s mother receives a terminal diagnosis, they abandon their life in Cologne to drive her home to Galicia. Their journey across 1970s Europe exposes them to a patchwork of contrasting social and political realities, even as their own bond begins to mirror the restless spirit of the era.
