Legal (2026)

Two rising actresses trade Colombia for New York City, chasing bigger dreams of fame, fortune, and a brighter future for themselves and a young daughter—only to crash into a harsh reality: here, they are just immigrants. Colombian-born director Daniel Arango, now based in New York, brings authentic grit to the screen, as do stars Jennifer Arenas and Josefina Scaro. Scaro, returning to MIFF after her acclaimed turn in the crowd-favorite *American Thief*, delivers another powerful performance.
