François.e (2026)

A fading 50-year-old screenwriter, François, cynically checks the “transgender” box on a funding application to revive his stalled TV series. Against all odds, the gamble pays off—and he’s suddenly cast as Françoise, a novelist embarking on her own transition. Realizing he can’t pull off the part alone, he enlists Sarah, a genuine trans writer, to help. As Françoise, he skyrockets to fame, fattening his wallet and mending his bond with his teenage daughter. But the deeper he sinks into the charade, the steeper the cost: his most meaningful connections now hinge on a borrowed identity. Françoise sets him free—while trapping him tighter than ever.
