As that possibility takes hold, the two prepare to head to Moscow and search for him.

More About This Film

Vanya is a Kannada-language drama about an elderly man who refuses to abandon the forest home that has defined his life. As outside authorities and modern systems push him toward evacuation, his resistance becomes a confrontation between personal freedom and institutional ideas of progress.

The film is rooted in the relationship between people and the natural world, using the forest as both a physical setting and a source of identity. Its quiet tone contrasts the pressures of modern society with a slower, deeply personal way of living.

  • Directed and produced by Badiger Devendra.
