Deep inside a remarkable building site, a tiny world comes to life—united by one mission: constructing movie theaters built to last a hundred years. Through the eyes of architects, traveling carpenters, site supervisors, the CEO of Pathé, speaker engineers, and the projectionists of tomorrow, this documentary captures the human spirit powering an extraordinary collective endeavor.

More About This Film

The Construction Site is a French documentary following the creation of a future residential facility designed for young autistic adults. Over an extended period, director Claire Doyon observes the construction process while also spending time with her daughter Pénélope, who is one of the people the new space is intended to serve.

The film connects architecture with questions about care, independence, communication, and community. Builders, designers, family members, and future residents become part of a larger portrait of how physical spaces can respond to people whose ways of inhabiting the world do not fit conventional expectations.
