Resident Evil (2026)

Resident Evil is a 2026 horror reboot that reimagines Capcom's famous survival-horror property as an original story rather than a direct continuation of the earlier live-action film series. The film follows Bryan, a medical courier whose ordinary night turns into a desperate struggle for survival amid a horrifying outbreak.

Directed by Zach Cregger, the movie was developed as a fresh entry point into the Resident Evil universe. The combination of creature horror, action, and survival elements gives the film a more grounded starting point while retaining the franchise's core atmosphere of dread and escalating danger.

• Zach Cregger directed the film.
• Cregger and Shay Hatten wrote the screenplay.
• Austin Abrams stars alongside Zach Cherry, Kali Reis, and Paul Walter Hauser.
• TriStar Pictures, Constantin Film, and Davis Films are behind the production.
• The theatrical release is scheduled for September 18, 2026.
