A 16-year-old girl named Hyun-jae, fleeing a violent father, tricks Hae-in—a grieving mother desperately hunting for her lost daughter—into letting her move in as a substitute. Through the warmth of summer, Hyun-jae grows close to Hae-in, discovering solace in her passion for singing, yet her longing to fill Yun-seul’s place turns into an all-consuming fixation. When hope arrives that Hae-in’s real daughter may have been located, Hyun-jae, shaken by her own fears, makes a courageous sacrifice to stay by Hae-in’s side, finally accepting that no one can truly replace the missing girl.
